Stellantis labur RM24 juta untuk program CKD EV Leapmotor di Gurun

Leapmotor dan Stellantis baru-baru ini mengumumkan inisiatif program pemasangan tempatan (CKD) bagi kenderaan jenama Leapmotor di Malaysia.

Dengan pelaburan awal bernilai 5 juta Euro (RM24 juta), ia bakal menyaksikan kilang Stellantis di Gurun, Kedah berubah menjadi hab pemasangan utama untuk rantau ASEAN.

Langkah strategik tersebut bakal menempatkan Malaysia lebih ke hadapan di dalam aspek pengindustrian EV di rantau ini.

Malah, dengan memperkenalkan EV Leapmotor yang canggih dan mudah diakses, Stellantis mahu membawakan penyelesaian mobiliti berteknologi tinggi ke Asia Tenggara.

Menurut Ketua Pegawai Operasi Stellantis India & Asia Pasifik, Ashwani Muppasani berkata, kilang Stellantis di Gurun dipilih kerana lokasi strategik dan infrastruktur yang matang untuk peningkatan produksi yang lebih cekap dan pengedaran yang lancar ke pasaran ASEAN yang lain.

Ini dilihat selari dengan kerangka kerja Stellantis “Dibina di ASEAN untuk ASEAN”.

Sementara itu, Pengarah Urusan Stellantsi ASEAN, Isaac Yeo berkata, program pemasangan tempatan bagi model Leapmotor akan berjalan pada akhir tahun 2025 yang dimulakan dengan model Leapmotor C10 EV.

Selain daripada Leapmotor C10 EV, Leapmotor juga merancang untuk meluaskan program CKD tersebut untuk model-model lain seperti C10 REEV dan SUV kompak B10.

Proton e.MAS7 emerged as the best-selling EV sold in Malaysia

For the entire month of March, Pro-Net, a subsidiary of Proton, has successfully sold 797 units of the Proton e.MAS7 electric SUV.

This brings the total e.MAS7 deliveries to 1,853 units for the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, contributing to a market share of 30 percent so far this year, making it the number one EV in Malaysia.

According to Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of Pro-Net, “We would like to thank our customers for their support and unwavering confidence in the Proton e.MAS7, as well as their trust in us to provide an ecosystem that allows them to enjoy the electric driving experience.

“This achievement will be an encouragement for us to continue to improve ourselves in offering high-quality products and providing a better ownership experience to our customers,” he said.

For the Malaysian market, the Proton e.MAS7 is offered in two variants, namely Prime priced at RM105,800 and Premium priced at RM119,800, valid for the first 6,000 bookings.

For the convenience of users, Proton provides 75 DC charging points of up to 120 kW at several dealerships.

In addition, owners can also gain access to over 90 percent of the charging points that exist in Malaysia operated by Gentari, JomCharge, chargEV, DC Handal, Chargesini, Carput Zap, RExharge and Charge+, as well as an integrated charging map directly through the Proton e.MAS app.

According to Zhang Qiang, “our goal is not just to sell cars, we want to develop a complete ecosystem that involves not only 36 dealerships, but also the entire EV charging infrastructure in Malaysia.

“We are also working closely with charging point operators (CPOs) to make EV ownership easier as we want our customers to transition from ICE to EV seamlessly.”
